According to her dad, an accomplished Broadway performer, “Mrs. Mac” was singing before she was talking and dancing before she was walking! Born in New York and raised in New Jersey, she eventually made her way west where she graduated from the University of Redlands with a B.A. in English and minor in Music. At Gonzaga University, she earned her master's degree and teaching certification endorsed in English/Language Arts and Theater Arts, meeting the Highly Qualified status. While enjoying her favorite roles as wife, mom, and later grandma, she also directed and performed in numerous musicals, operettas, and dramas.
At an early age, she discovered she had an unquenchable thirst for learning; she would come home from school and play school! She has taught music, drama, English/language arts, speech, and debate for kindergarten through high school in public, private, and charter schools. One of her strengths as a teacher is that she works hard to make learning fun! She loves her students and desires most of all that they become followers of Jesus. She is committed to excellence and equipping them with a Biblical worldview and the knowledge and skills useful now and throughout their lifetimes.
When she's not teaching, Mrs. Mac loves time with her family, singing, acting, cooking, hiking, biking, swimming, and reading. In addition, she serves as a Sunday school teacher, Awana leader, and praise team member. As Eric Liddell so aptly expressed in Chariots of Fire, “When I run, I feel His pleasure,” she feels God’s pleasure when she teaches!
