Ever since I was old enough to pack my own lunch, I’ve been struggling with packing actual meals, instead of snacks to get me by. Especially as a teenager, packing healthy but tasty food is a challenge. The following is a list of various food items to mix and match for a yummy, wholesome lunch.

Snacks:

·      Avocado slices. These go well on sandwiches, with tortilla chips, or just with a little salt and pepper!

·      Fresh fruit. Oranges, apples, bananas, or grapes.

·      Celery. Delicious with some peanut butter or cream cheese on them.

·      Tortilla chips. These go good on their own, or with some of those avocados.

·      Trail mix. Mix some nuts, dried fruit, and maybe a few chocolate chips for some yummy trail mix.

·      Cheese sticks or slices.

·      Granola bars. Quick and easy!

Main Courses:

·      Burritos. When I was younger, my mum would make a bunch of burritos and stick them all in the freezer for my siblings and I to warm up for our lunches whenever we wanted.

·      Sandwiches! These are a classic, and there are so many ways to make them. Peanut butter and jam, ham and cheese, pepperoni and cheese, the list goes on.

·      Salad. Green salad, pasta salad, or fruit salad.

·      Pizza!

·      Soup. Chicken noodle, vegetable beef, anything that would fit in a thermos.

·      Chicken or lettuce wrap.

·      Leftovers from last night’s dinner. Super easy, and it cleans out the fridge!

These are just some ideas. Healthy food can be enjoyable, and you can have a lot of fun making it. I hope this helped!
